Dang...
I hate it when I over-react at few things but yet at the same time be very unreactive to other things..
Maybe I'm just too nervous..
Went home today.. but the house is empty..
as usual...
Had a good long hot & cold bath... so relaxing.. I needed that...
should I go and eat without them? (them = my parents btw..)
ah wells.. I'm already waiting.. so might as well...

mui first eva in-blog movie critique

seen the "Forbidden City!!"
Yep.. I know.. it's cruel.. I mean.. how can my parents let me do this?!?! No lah kidding kidding.. It was a very good production.. seeing how it is local and everything... So I feel no regrets.. Yup.. even tho' promos coming yada yada yada~ (let's get on with it, shall we?)
So here goes my first in-blog 'movie' critique: (warning: lots of 'spoilers' here)
Forbidden City: Portrait of an Empress tells a tale of two tales that goes side by side with each other. The main focus of this plays lays much in the life-stories of the Dragon Lady: Empress Dowager Cixi (played by Kit Chan as well as Sheila Francisco) about how she deals on with the people's prespection of her in China as well as the hardship of her life. However, a sub-storyline follows as a British lady by the name of Kate Carl who was invited to paint a portrait of the Empress 'demands' that the Empress open up herself more so that she will be able to paint the portrait better, as she believed painting a portrait is a 'two-way' relationship thing. The painter shares her skill and the subject shares.. about the sucject. Yeah so that's how we get all the flashbacks and the story going..
One interesting point I want to mention.. Forbidden City is not all about history. Surprisingly it contains comedies, tragedies, instances of betrayal, friendship and most of all about love. On how the Dragon Lady was quoted to be cruel because of (allegedly) murdering her own son, a twist that was written by a journalist by the name of George Morrison whom Kate have met earlier on in the train, fell in love with and shares everything about the Empress with, through letters by post (blah blah). Though in fact, the truth was not at all like that. She loved her own son and wiped him with her handkerchief and stuff.. Just because that bloody journalist wrote.. Arrgh! Men are like that.. But I better not get too emo writing a 'movie' critique.. calm.. let's not be biased..
Yeah so anyways.. The portrait was done.. but the newspaper was also out.. that bloody journalist severed ties with Kate as well as the friendship that Kate and the Empress builds as the latter felt that Kate had betrayed her for giving the wrong information.. and things got worse as the population condemn her (the Dragon Lady = the Empress) further.. So the story goes until Leigh McDonald (Kate) closes in with a song.
Overall a great theatre play... Great voices, I must say, outstanding performance by mostly locals.. (only kate and george are ang-mohs I suppose). Splendid acting - or should I rather say stageplay - by all.. Recommended to all who love to hear people sing in most of the 3 hours (break in between), have a little passion about the history of China and most of those who are local (so basically all lah).. I know a bit late to post this up as they are closing on the 30th of September.. so that means by the time you read this it would probably be in the midst of exams or probably the play is no more.. Hahah.. so sorry..
Well anyways, on a more casual note.. ATTENTION OBS PEEPS IF YOU'RE READING THIS!! I ONLY HAVE 10+ CDS and slightly more TO BE USED FOR BURNING.. I will burn this batch of CDs hopefully by friday so I can give y'all before exams.. if not then I try to do it over the weekends ba...
Yea.. guess that's it for now.. still got EoM to do.. (AAArrrhhh its KILLING ME!!!)

feeling kinda mixed up now...
Time check: 12.30am.. and I count this still as the Thursday.. Tmrw then Friday.. (as in, after I sleep) yep..
Was wanting to blog since i reached home.. at about 9.30pm today (note: today=Thursday, not Friday)
I left my handphone at home today.. surprisingly...
I came home with my dad expressing how worried he is for me (I'm sorry dad, really)
So he did care..
But I got scolded anyways..
Suddenly feeling so melancholic..
Was exposed to too much of Michael Bublé's song - "Home" I suppose..
Me and Rai were singing it all the way through classes and such.. and after school too..
Oh yeah.. after school.. I sang it with Hakim at 6.30pm in the canteen..
Hahah.. funny scene..
I stayed back..
just to witness the most extraodinary game I've ever seen.. the 'Gundu' Game.. performed by Hakim of course.. and some other ppl lah.. damn stupid.. but funny heheh...
At first I thought of studying..
But somehow we ended up at the Macs.. Me, Jasmine, Hakim, Afiq and Adip.. doing 'productive' sharing session lol..
[and the guilty feeling kicks in... ]
moving on..
Oh yeah.. I wasquite very happy with my pe elective.. SHOOTING!!! yeah.. Today's the third lesson for me.. counting Monday as first, yesterday (Wednesday) frm 3.30-5.30pm for make-up lesson as the second and yep.. today's the third.. and I was so happy!! I love shooting!! Air Rifle and whatever.. Even though I felt that I did better for the yesterday's make-up lesson.. well.. we did shoot 5 rounds of 5 on blanks and one on target.. but I felt I fare pretty good for this lesson's... A lot of improvements too.. better than me saying.. let the pictures do the words..
Theen... This one is a tyco one.. after shooting today's 3 rounds of 5 right.. I thought of askin' the teach for one more try.. then when he let me do..

Oh yeah.. before I end off.. just wanna say that.. erm.. I've just been to Leonard's and Nigel's blogs!! (That's so like random but yeah anyways,...) .. I love Nigel's blogskin but the moment I enter Leonard's.. wah piang eh I tell u BEST BLOGSKIN of the season!!! Yeah.. Full support of Tur Kua and the mee siam mai hum... HAHAHAHAH.. thumbs up to whoever made the blogskin.. Yep.. so I added links and i think it should all be inside there --> "My Darlinks"
So that's all.. too much to say liao.. Gotta go back do work.. EoM!! PW!! oh atrocious ah.. what with promos and all seriously can't they just let us off or something!? The buggerheads...
It's already going to be nearly 2am btw.. yeap.. in fact blogging also 'wastes' a lot of my time.. Ok yes I'll stop here before I comprain somemore..

It's funny how things turn out to be...
Had many stuff going on since I last blogged.. which was way waaay back.. lol
Went OBS to Pulau Ubin.. and I think, for a 5-day course, it was THé most enriching school-camp that I have ever been to. That is, excluding all community work trips that I made (for example, when I went to Nepal).. so that would mean.. FMSS sec 1 camp, sec 2 leadership camp, sec 3 leadership camp to malaysia, sec 4 camp(not counted), j1 IJC OAC camp.. yeah.. and OBS.. out of all those.. OBS HAD to be THE BEST.. no kidding..
If I were to tell all of it here in full details, I think I dun have the time and I think I'll drag.. cannot cannot.. so let me summarise it all in few sentences to just keep the whole thing as a beautiful memory..
Kays.. firstly.. I had the most wonderful watch (aka group.. not the clock u hav on ur wrists) 'Gandhi' comprising the most wonderful mix of team leaders a group could ever comprises of: Hakim, Jasmine, Da Wei, Jason, Shelly, Evelyn, Dinie, Winston, Amanda, me, Arshad, Faris, Patrick Kok and Yee Ching.. yup.. only 14 people.. but quantity does not make up the quality.. So yeah, we rock Gandhi! (Whoops getting draggy here). Basically, what we did was a whole lot of reflecting aside from rock-climbing, kayaking, inverse towers.. oh and yeah did I mention that we, as a whole 30 of us frm IJC is gonna be noted down inside the record book for making history in kayaking the whole round route of Pulau Ubin in less than 10 hours? (whew).. actually, to put it accurately.. we planned for a 10 hour trip around the whole of Pulau Ubin (with breaks) and we managed to made it in 9 hours, inclusive of the part that we were lost in the mangrove! Whee! Well done people.. so proud.. (=^^=)
Well yeah.. One of the things that I like best is not just about what we did during the camp, I think it's more of the aftermath or after the camp thing that was really touching.. Coz our group is small.. only bout 30 people.. we really do still stick close to meeting up just for a few rounds of 'murderers' at Gelaré or staying back in the library together to do work (ehems) yeah.. even though this is like, what? 2 weeks past the OBS trips?
Short to say, I'm really blessed to have been able to meet all these wonderful people, get to know them better and hang with them.. I hope this will continue even after we finished promo's yeah?!
Anyways..
Was just listening to 'Running away' by Craig David.. or was it 'walking away'? Hahah.. either one.. and the thought of it is funny.. (those of you who know join along now) lol..
I'll end of here for now.. thot I had a lot to say.. but I must strive to study!! No time should be wasted.. promos coming and I want to pass it well so I can celebrate properly!! Waaaa (hope I dun get to breakdown so often) Geez.. I just hoped that God will make me smarter somehow.. anyways.. (last few words) TAGG my BOARD please! Esp. OBS peeps! Whee~! Jya-ne! =p
