learning new stuff.. on a new day
today i re-learned how to do laundry (coz I've sorta learned it from before) and learned how to wash my own toilet.. no.. not *just* the toilet-bowl like how we do detention in our school (most schools lifted up that ridiculous idea tho, fortunately) - I'm talking about the toilet as in the *whole* toilet room, showers and all..
if you have read from my previous post i did say that starting from.. a few day back.. there's no maid in da' house.. so my mum have just taught me how to do the house chores to help her out (as she has now gained a new role of being ''housewive'' lol altho the title really doesn't suit her) and i'm telling ya now.. it's a HELL LOTTA' WORK!! now i can really feel like those prisoners detained for community service work: *cleaning the toilet* heh.. difference is.. i don't have time limit.. they do. *ha!* in any case tho, it must've taken me ages to clean that toilet.. even tho everything's cramped into a 2x1m room.. It's subjective but i think that's precisely the reason why.
Now let me tell you that I have never -and I mean never- cleaned my own toilet before, except probably to flush my own business down the toilet but let's not go there, shall we? Thank goodness tho, my bathroom (oh yeah.. bathroom.. not 'toilet room' lol) was -sorta- clean from before.. no stinking aroma.. no 'gunk' and especially nothing too serious that i can't wipe off. As such, it made my cleaning experience *that* much better. Phew! But still, there's actually a lot to do.. cleaning the tiled walls and removing dirt/black-black stuff from the sides and corners of those tiles, wiping the mirrors, wipe away dust from cabinet tops, and of course there was the shower's glass panes as well, cleaning the floor was one heck of a tiring work, the sink and lastly the toilet bowl. My mom instructed me briefly soo i couldn't really catch the whole thing - as a result, i left the bathroom virtually wet! (I forgot to dry everything up =p) lol But after the whole thing (I took a shower along with the cleaning as well), my whole bathroom was in a spick-and-span condition - with me smelling like (the cleaning) soap!
Heh.. I dunno how long I took in there but it must be that long! Coz my mom even had time to make me a cup of 'es teler' - an Indonesian desert/drink in which u mix up cut-up jackfruit, coconut, along with slices of avocado, mix it up with crushed ice and topped it off with some condensed milk. (you can probably try it in Indonesian cafés/restaurants around your area) Two words to sum it up: refreshingly yumm!! The effect has probably tripled due to the fact that i drank it at this kind of time (where in Singapore- it's mildly hot.. the perfect temperature to go swimming) and that it was to reward me of my hard work. Hahah..
So in the end, no matter if ppl may look at it as torture, cheap labour, or even 'free labour' in my case, I would view this as one heck of an experience I got with a nice reward to top it off. To sum it up: hard work pays. really.
(think I should get going too with my studies >.<)

haha
Hey, hey everybody!
As usual, lotsa things happened since I last properly blogged in (it does feel like aAgESs).. like how my bro just came back from Melbourne and it's the hols now bla, bla, bla.. And as goes my style, I'll probably do a one-big-swipe of things (if u get what I mean) and just alter the dates of posts of what had happened to me in the past.. (so u might wanna also check out the posts between the last time i post ((which is april this year)) and this post to get all the other 'side' stories)
but AS for now.. the most hot and 'in' thing that has been happening in my life is how I -well, rather, my family/household- have now gotten ourself into a situation whereby we don't have a house maid anymore(!) coz the most recent one that we've got of only just a few days time -hear this out- FLED!!! from home!! I mean, can you believe it?
OK so the story goes on like this..
My previous maid ran out of contract.. cuz she had served us a good 2 years or so and her contract is due and everything, added that with the case that she wanna marry some guy and have a life of her own.. so yeah.. it was all good and done. So that was Sunday morning (when she properly left and all). Sunday evening came in the new one, let's call her 'L' (nothing related to DeathNote, mind you). Now L is a young woman aspiring to go overseas. We had thought she had all the good intention with her looks and all. She seem polite and eager to work with us. All was good and done for the intros and orientations of her whole work agenda until today. Then came in the problem.
I'm not too sure of the details cuz I went early for some school GP extra lesson but I heard that my mom scolded her for heating up a sauce wrongly. It's like this: sauce from the freezer need to be heated up in the microwave alongside a cup/saucer of water so that the moisture of the whole system stays and that the sauce won't be dried up. Or so how my family would think.. problem is, instead of doing as she was told, L literally just mixes up the sauce with the water and heat it up in the microwave and therefore the final result is: a very diluted sauce. Of course my mom was a bit frustrated and told her her mistakes and I think she thought it was meant as a scolding session or smth.. So when the whole family was gone (bro went to cut hair, dad was bringing mom to work and I, of course, was outside) she left the house.
Pretty impudent don't you think? What's worse, my dad came back home finding it to be unlocked. That could be very dangerous. Indeed.
I could tell you worse things about her like how she lied to the maid agency about my mom beating her and stuff (I mean, wtf?! My mom wouldn't hurt an animal! Much less a human.. ) but it wouldn't really place much effect on me, would it? So let me just tell you that right now, my household is maid-less. And we've been doing our own house chores and stuff.. thank goodness it's the hol's.. I did the dishes, laundry and helped out a bit in the cooking area while mom cooks, sweeps the floors, mop it etc etc while the guys in my family don't really help much at all.. Oh brother.. 'cept that my dad helped out in the ironing.. but still.. guys ah guys.. I'm telling you! GUYS. haha.. ok ok .. I shall say enough.
So yeah.. before I really can't stop myself and dragged on this post.. I shall tarry no longer. That's all for now! Adios and take care people! ^.~
